Hello! We are renting our basement suite in our family home in Fairfield / Gonzales area (close to the Oak Bay border). It is a beautiful neighbourhood, walking distance to the Royal Jubilee Hospital and a quick 15 min bus or bike ride to UVic. It's a block away from grocery stores, coffee shops and lots of amenities on Oak Bay Ave.

It is a small, well-lit and cosy bachelor's suite with a separate kitchen area and a living / bedroom. There is a built-in work space and closet with built in cupboards and racks. The bathroom is small, but has what you need - a sink, toilet and shower. The kitchen has a large fridge, microwave and 2-burner hotplate (there is no oven).

The ceiling is a bit low so taller people might not love it. There is no laundry onsite.  The suite is furnished with a double bed - all you really need are your clothes , some bedding and your toothbrush!! 

We have two children (13 and 15yrs old) and are looking to welcome a quiet, responsible, single person to our family home. The neighbourhood is very safe and quiet, perfect for a person who just wants to relax and have their own little space. We had a wonderful long-term tenant, but he is moving away, so the suite is now available. I am sure you could chat with him for our references if that interests you.

You must like (or at least tolerate) a dog, as we have one and we cant accept any additional pets in the house. There is no smoking or drugs anywhere on the premises.

The rent is $1250/month or $400/week - including all utilities.
