The James H. Quillen College of Medicine is a medical school and a part of East Tennessee State University, which is located in Johnson City, Tennessee.

East Tennessee State University's Quillen College of Medicine serves along with the College of Nursing, College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences, Gatton College of Pharmacy, and College of Public Health as the region's health sciences center

The College has developed into one of the nation's leading schools for rural and primary care medicine.

The East Tennessee State University Rural Primary Care Track (RPCT) is a 4-year community-based experiential curriculum whose core goals emphasize community, rural culture, interdisciplinary team interactions and leadership development. Rural Medicine is at the very heart of the mission of the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University.

Beginning in the 1st year, RPCT students work at one of two rural sites, either Mountain City or Rogersville.

• Students at the Mountain City site work out of the Johnson County Academic Health Center as well as in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital and several outpatient clinics.

Indian Path Community Hospital is a 261 bed hospital in Kingsport TN which provided advanced services, including an accredited joint replacement program and dedicated spine center.  Indian Path's Family Childbirth Center provides family centered, single-room maternity care.  The Regional Cancer Center offers radiation and medical oncology services. The hospital also provides inpatient and outpatient surgery services.
