The Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine is a 4-year MD-granting program that welcomed their first classes in 1976. The Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine has a commitment to improving the lives of the Puerto Rican community. The curriculum is given through problem-based learning and evidence-based modes of instruction. The school has a strong emphasis on community intervention, and students are encouraged to be involved in the community as well as in student organizations.
